june so soon

June 2nd, 2007 by info

hey hi guys,

thank you everyone who came out to our shows last weekend. Madison was a bit wonky, but the Chicago shows were glorious - special thanks to the hardcores who came to both the house show and to Schuba’s. all the bands were great… please take time to listen to the I Ching Quartet, Eyesearsnose, Osmowhitely, Pillars and Tongues, and the Yeasayer. you’ve probably already heard Frog Eyes, but we’ll plug them as well - thanks for buying a shirt, dude. and Will - it was amazing that you came to Madison.. hope to see you soon.

here are some pics from the schuba’s show: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kirstiecat/sets/72157600283196137/

so we have three new songs locked down: “m2″, “thanks, vern”, and another song that won’t let me title it just yet. plus a new version of “fireball”, complete with q-cord. it was wonderful to test them on you who attended the house show, and the rest should trust us when we say you won’t be disappointed.

Rumours of A Union will be out beginning of July. the first remix - “trefoil dirtraces” - is over on myspace: www.mypace.com/mittensonstrings. and t-shirts will be going up shortly. we swear this. ol’ Preston has been sweating over these for too hard to just have them go sitting in our loft.

side-project alert: mung will be playing with our labelmates When the Dinosaurs they Ruled the Earth at the Hideout on June 14th. the I Ching Quartet will be playing June 17th at Duke’s and the 22nd in Lincoln Square for the summer solstice. and our dear Osmowhitely will be serenading Ronny’s on June 18th with Alps of New South Wales. all of these take place in Chicago, so deal with it.

thanks again, two eyes.
