Mittens on Strings will be heading down to Austin next week for South by Southwest. We have two shows, the first being under the Texas sky at our Wednesday night showcase on the Habana Calle 6 patio. Our bros When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth will be shredding the stage after us - there is more information on the shows page. The second performance will be at a party Friday afternoon at the Furniture Residence, put on by the kingpins of the “Sheets of Easter” tape comps. We’ll be playing at 1:30 alongside Hearts of Darknesses, Citay, Buffalo Killers, Maps & Atlases and more rockers than you can shake a pecan branch at. The remix EP has grown again - Alan Astor and Stars as Eyes are in with Girl Talk, White Williams, and Osmo Whitely for mixes. In addition to the mp3s online, we will have a small pressing of hand-made CDs. More information on that as we make it up.

Due to popular demand, we will soon be adding a merchandise page to our website. In addition to buying CDs and records, one will be able to browse each of our hand-drawn T-shirts and order from the site. We’ll post that soon, promise.

Work continues on our new songs. Elephant Joe came to Chicago to record some overdubs at ESS, and we were in there this past weekend adding vocals. We’ll be adding some last overdubs to the recordings and working out some new arrangements later this month, what with South by Southwest and all.
